Santa Fe girls eliminated in Districts
It was time for district competition last week, and the Santa Fe Lady Chiefs traveled south down Highway 23 to take on the extremely familiar host school Concordia, in Class 2 District 14 play last Wednesday night. Santa Fe had won three straight over the Lady Orioles, but everyone knew this would be a tough ball game.

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has new booklets for hunters, trappers, anglers, and others on spring turkey hunting, hunting and trapping, and fishing. The free booklets are available at MDC regional offices, MDC nature centers, and other places where permits are sold. The handy booklets have information on related permits, seasons, species, regulations, limits, conservation areas, sunrise and sunset tables, and more.

Lady Chiefs battle Bluebirds in regular season finale
Things looked promising early on for the Lady Chiefs at Cole Camp last Friday night, trying to end the regular season with a W. After one quarter of play Santa Fe had clamped down on defense against CCHS, leading 8-2. Scores by Brooke Dierking and Mia Lark highlighted the opening frame.

Concordia ends season for Chiefs
The Chiefs were on the road to finish up the regular season last Friday night at Cole Camp to take on the Blue Birds. Logan Wilsie had 4 in the first and Will Leabo hit a three, but it was 12-9 CCHS after one quarter. Santa Fe heated up in the second frame going for 16 points, with Korben Dierking dropping in a pair of treys. The halftime score was knotted up at 25 all.
Catch-and-keep trout season begins March 1 at trout parks
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reminds anglers that March 1 marks the annual opening of catchand- keep trout fishing at Missouri’s four trout parks: Bennett Spring State Park near Lebanon, Montauk State Park near Licking, Roaring River State Park near Cassville, and Maramec Spring Park near St. James. The catch-andkeep season at the trout parks runs through Oct. 31. The daily limit is four trout, and the possession limit is eight for all four parks.

Santa Fe girls win three in a row at home
The Lady Chiefs hosted the Concordia Lady Orioles to town on Valentine’s Eve and Court Warming. With a supper, and a bunch of fundraising goodies lining the main hallway, the ball was tipped and Santa Fe jumped out on top 5-1. Later, Mia Lark got a put back to make it 9-6 at the end of the first quarter.
