The Lafayette County 4-H Achievement Day took place on June 20 at Lafayette County C-1 Middle School, highlighting the talents and accomplishments of local youth. Events throughout the day included judging contests, demonstrations, fashion revue, public speaking, Clover Kid activities, Western Heritage Personas and the annual King and Queen contest.
Governor Kehoe celebrates growth of Missouri Blue Shield Program
On July 1, Governor Mike Kehoe announced that 350 Missouri counties, cities, towns, and a school district have received the Missouri Blue Shield designation in the program’s second year, marking a 74% increase in participation since its launch in 2025.
Flagging operation planned on Hwy 20 for next few months
Crews will be conducting flagging operations on Missouri Route 20 between Lafayette County Route W and Saline County Route EE south beginning Monday, July 13 for pavement repair work. The project is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2026. All work is weather permitting.
