Welcoming a New Face to the Music Department
By S. Otero A new school year brings new faces, new opportunities and, hopefully, plenty of music! This year, Lafayette County C-1 is excited to welcome Emily Westerman as the new band teacher for students in grades 6–12.
Rabbit Show
The Lafayette County 4-H/FFA Fair Rabbit Show was held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the 4-H Barn in Fairground Park. The show provided exhibitors with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of rabbit care, breeding, management, and showmanship while showcasing the animals they had worked with throughout the year. Through participation in rabbit projects, youth develop responsibility, record-keeping skills, and a deeper understanding of animal science.

Poultry Show
The Lafayette County 4-H/FFA Fair Poultry Show was held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Shelter House in Fairground Park. The show provided exhibitors an opportunity to showcase their knowledge of poultry management, animal care, and production practices while competing with birds they had raised and prepared for exhibition. Participants demonstrated the responsibility, dedication, and attention to detail required for success in poultry projects.

4-H/FFA Goat Show
Following the Sheep Show, exhibitors participated in the Lafayette County 4-H/FFA Fair Goat Show at the 4-H Barn in Fairground Park. The show featured both Dairy Goat and Meat Goat classes, providing youth with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of animal care, nutrition, management, and showmanship. Through their goat projects, 4-H and FFA members developed valuable skills in responsibility, record keeping, and livestock production while showcasing the results of months of preparation and hard work.
