Alma resident to be recognized at Missouri State Fair
For the eighth year, the Missouri State Fair will hold the Military Flag Retreat Ceremony, a tradition that honors the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our nation. As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with our “Show-Me Stars and Stripes” theme, the Missouri State Fair is proud to recognize these outstanding veterans for their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to defending our nation.
Shepherd’s Food Pantry June 2026 update
The Shepherd’s Food Pantry had another busy month for June. The pantry served 373 families, which breaks down into 505 adults, 346 children, and 340 seniors, for a total of 1,191 people who needed a helping hand in our tri-county region.

On Saturday night, July 4, area residents gathered at the Waverly marina to enjoy the Thunder at the Port display, put on by JL Events.

Santa Fe: Lafayette County 4-H Achievement Day showcases youth talent, hard work
The Lafayette County 4-H Achievement Day took place on June 20 at Lafayette County C-1 Middle School, highlighting the talents and accomplishments of local youth. Events throughout the day included judging contests, demonstrations, fashion revue, public speaking, Clover Kid activities, Western Heritage Personas and the annual King and Queen contest.
Tieman-Blackburn Legion plans Family Night dinner for July 26
The Tieman-Blackburn American Legion Auxiliary met June 8, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Legion Hall in Blackburn.

Santa Fe class of ‘81 holds reunion
Santa Fe’s graduating class of 1981 held their 45th class reunion on June 6, 2026. The outdoor evening event was held at the home of Dale and Deana Aversman, both members of the class. A catered meal was provided by Nadler’s of Wellington along with a contribution of side dishes and desserts.
Governor Kehoe celebrates growth of Missouri Blue Shield Program
On July 1, Governor Mike Kehoe announced that 350 Missouri counties, cities, towns, and a school district have received the Missouri Blue Shield designation in the program’s second year, marking a 74% increase in participation since its launch in 2025.
Waverly to hold citywide cleanup
The City of Waverly has planned a citywide cleanup beginning this weekend.
