NAME: Debbie Guillia McGinnis BIRTHPLACE: St. Joseph’s Hospital in Kansas City because our hospital was still under construction.

YEARS IN LEXINGTON AND LAFAYETTE COUNTY: 52 FAMILY: Two daughters, Missy Martin of Wellington and Megan Foster of Surprise, Arizona, and grandsons Jake Martin and Tucker Martin.

THE BEST THING ABOUT LIVING IN LEXINGTON IS: Lots of people are willing to help when you need it.

OCCUPATION: Semiretired book editor.

WHAT I WANTED TO BE WHEN I GREW UP: A high school English teacher.

YOUR FIRST JOB: Travel Agent.

FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY: Trips with my parents and planting my garden behind the garage.

WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST IN YOUR FRIENDS: Truth, Loyalty, Good Communication, Kindness.

YOUR GREATEST FEAR IS: Being a burden on my daughters.

I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO: Go through chemotherapy again.

I’VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO: Master a musical instrument, though I’ve tried and tried.

IF I WON THE LOTTERY, I WOULD: Set up my family for life and take care of those who have been good to me.

HOBBIES: Volunteering at the Margaret Gray Center, Reading.
