Lichte rooted in agriculture

The Lexington Hall of Fame for Career Achievement is proud to announce the induction of Michael Lichte.

Michael, a long-time Lexington native, has built a distinguished career rooted in agriculture.

A 2000 graduate of Lexington High School, he went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business management from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2004 and later completed his MBA at Rockhurst University in 2007.

Since joining Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) as a dairy economist in 2004, Lichte has held numerous roles across analytics, global business development, customer relationships and business management.

Today, he serves in a strategic leadership position focused on planning, insights and business optimization for the national cooperative, which represents 5,000 American dairy farm families who produce nearly 30% of the nation’s milk, and markets a broad range of dairy products across the U.S. and to more than 60 countries.

Beyond his professional contributions, Lichte remains deeply connected to Lexington. He and his wife, Katie, have been married nearly 20 years and are raising their three children — Chael, Ellie and Case — who all attend Lexington schools. He also works alongside his parents, brother, sister-in-law, wife and children on their family farm, raising corn, soybeans and cattle. A long-time youth coach, Lichte has been a part of numerous basketball, baseball and football teams through Lexington Parks and Recreation, coaching many amazing Lexington athletes over the years.

The public is invited to honor Michael at the Lexington Hall of Fame for Career Achievement Ceremony on Saturday, March 7 at 2 p.m. at the L.H.S. Arnold Viebrock Activity Center.
