Homfeld Scholarship available

Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Darrick K. Homfeld Memorial Scholarship. This is the 28th year this scholarship has been available to assist students pursuing technical studies.
Darrick was a life-long resident of Lexington. Darrick was a farmer and welder at the time of his death.
He was a 1995 graduate of Lexington High School and Lex La-Ray Technical Center, and a student at State Fair Community College in Sedalia. The scholarship was established in 1998 in his memory to assist area students continuing their education. Applications may be obtained through the Lex La-Ray Technical Center and Lexington High School. Documents regarding the scholarship’s background and award distribution are also available. An online copy of this application may be found on the scholarship pages of Lafayette County C-1 and Lexington R-V.
This scholarship is available to seniors who are to graduate from Lexington High School or from any sending school district of Lex La-Ray Technical Center, and who are entering postsecondary education.
Foremost consideration shall be for students continuing their education in the field of welding. Consideration shall also be given to students entering other technical fields of study. This scholarship is available for renewal for past recipients.
Completed applications must be returned to either the Lex La-Ray office or Sheri Jo Hager, LHS root-ED advisor, by Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
