SEC men’s basketball tourney kicks off today

March Madness is finally here, and the Southeastern Conference Men’s Post Season Basketball Tournament will kick off with four games today (Wednesday) at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The Missouri Tigers are seeded eighth in the tournament, and they will receive a first round bye, and will face the winner of today’s LSU-Kentucky game tomorrow morning at 11:30. If the Tigers had won last Saturday’s game with Arkansas, they would have been the number four seed, and would have earned both a first and a second round bye. The Tigers lost 88 to 84 to Arkansas last Saturday in overtime. The Tournament schedule is as follows: Wednesday 11:30 AM (16) LSU vs (9) Kentucky; 2 PM (13) Mississippi State vs (12) Auburn; 6 PM (15) Ole Miss vs (10) Texas; 8:30 PM (14) South Carolina vs (11) Oklahoma.

Thursday 11:30 AM (8) Missouri vs LSU-Kentucky winner; 2 PM (5) Tennessee vs Mississippi State-Auburn winner; 6 PM (7) Georgia vs Ole Miss-Texas winner; 8:30 PM (6) Texas A&M vs South Carolina-Oklahoma winner.

Friday 1 PM (1) Florida vs winner of Thursday’s first game; 3:30 PM (4) Vanderbilt vs winner of Thursday’s second game; 7 PM (2) Alabama vs winner of Thursday’s third game; 9:30 PM (3) Arkansas vs winner of Thursday’s fourth game.

Saturday 1 PM Winner of Friday’s first game vs winner of Friday’s second game; 3:30 PM Winner of Friday’s third game vs winner of Friday’s fourth game.

Sunday 1 PM Tournament Championship Game between the winners of the two Saturday games.

The Southeastern Conference Women’s Post Season Basketball Tournament was played last week at the Bon Secours Wellness Center in Greenville, South Carolina.

The Missouri Tiger Women were the fourteenth seed in the tournament, and they lost their first round game to number eleven seeded Alabama last Wednesday by the score of 65 to 48. Number three seeded Texas was the tournament Champion, as they defeated top seeded South Carolina 78 to 61 in last Sunday’s Championship contest.
