Lexington Hall of Famers speak to Academic Week students

Lexington High School Academic Week students recently were honored to hear from Lexington Hall of Fame for Career Achievement inductees, Lexington graduates, Bret Brooks (1998) and Michael Lichte (2000).

As a conclusion to Academic Week, Brooks and Lichte spoke to the group of their experiences at L.H.S. and their career choices. Hall of Fame committee member Joe Aull introduced the two speakers.

Brooks spoke of his involvement in many activities at Lexington High School. He shared that having multiple activities in high school helps to prepare one for the many responsibilities adults encounter in life. Mistakes help people grow. Establishing a good reputation is essential. Through his work with the Missouri Highway Patrol and his own company, Gray Ram Tactical, LLC, Brooks is an expert in preventing, responding to, mitigating and recovering from acts of violence.

Lichte organized his talk around his 4 C’s: curiosity, critical thinking, communication and commitment. Lichte shared his commitment to the organization he has worked for, Dairy Farmers of America, since he graduated from the University of Missouri. He has held many jobs within the company, including his current position as Chief Insights and Optimization Officer.

Both men responded to questions from the students. Academic Week was organized by Principal Jason Whitt.
