Leslie Bell Elementary Continues a Positive and Purposeful 2025-26 School Year As the 2025-26 school year moves into its fourth quarter, Leslie Bell Elementary is proud to highlight the continued success of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program as well as the dedicated efforts of our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO).
With strong progress already made this year, our school community remains focused on supporting academic achievement, positive behavior, and meaningful family involvement.
PBIS Focus: Building Character and Strengthening Connections Throughout the year, students have been learning and practicing monthly “Life Skills” that support our school pillars of being respectful, responsible, safe, and kind. These skills are highlighted during PBIS assemblies, where we gather as a school to celebrate positive behavior and recognize students who consistently go above and beyond in demonstrating these values.
December Life Skill: Accountability January Life Skill: Manners February Life Skill: Resilience March Life Skill: Time Management A special component of our PBIS program is PBIS Families, where students from multiple grade levels meet in small groups led by staff members. These families gather regularly to build relationships, encourage one another, and strengthen the values we promote each day. This structure continues to foster a strong sense of belonging and meaningful peer connections across our school community.
As we closed out the third quarter, students enjoyed our Third Quarter PBIS Celebrations, recognizing those who consistently demonstrated positive behavior and embodied the core values that make Leslie Bell Elementary a welcoming and encouraging place to learn.
PTO: Supporting Students, Families, and Staff The Leslie Bell Elementary PTO has remained an important partner in strengthening our school community throughout the year. One highlight was the PTO Holiday Store, which gave students the opportunity to practice budgeting and thoughtful gift-giving while selecting items for family and friends. The event was a favorite among students and helped reinforce important life skills such as decision-making and responsibility.
The PTO also partnered with the school for Title I Family Night and the Book Fair, creating opportunities for families to come together to support student learning. These events encouraged both math and reading by providing engaging activities, resources, and access to books that help students build strong literacy and problem-solving skills at home and in the classroom.
In addition to supporting students and families, the PTO continues to uplift our staff through small appreciation activities designed to keep teachers motivated and encouraged throughout the school year. These efforts help foster a positive environment for the educators who work each day to support Leslie Bell students.
Through these partnerships and events, the PTO continues to play a valuable role in supporting academic success and strengthening the connection between school and home.
Ambitious Academic Goals Leslie Bell Elementary continues to focus on strong academic goals for the 2025–2026 school year, reinforcing the school’s commitment to student learning, instructional alignment, and improved attendance.
A key initiative this year is the implementation of the district’s newly adopted math curriculum. Teachers across all grade levels continue to work toward consistent instruction supported by lesson planning, classroom walkthroughs, and student performance data.
Attendance remains a top priority as well. Leslie Bell Elementary aims to reach an 85% average daily attendance rate by the end of the school year. Targeted interventions, increased student engagement, and ongoing monitoring are all part of the strategy to help students spend more time in the classroom. Currently, the school reports that students have been present for approximately 93% of instructional hours.
Looking Ahead
As we move through the final quarter of the 2025–2026 school year, Leslie Bell Elementary looks forward to continued growth and achievement. Through our PBIS initiatives, the support of our PTO, and our focused building goals, we remain dedicated to creating a supportive, engaging, and high-quality learning experience for every student.
We encourage families to stay connected as we continue to share updates, celebrate student accomplishments, and work together as a strong school community.
