Frances Kay Toms

Frances Kay Toms, 86 of Higginsville, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Ridge Crest Nursing Center in Warrensburg.

She was born Thursday, May 18, 1939 in Ridgeway, Mo., to the late Orville Price and the late Mary (Miller) Price. She attended school in Albany, Mo.

Kay worked in transportation for many years, owning and operating her own dispatch company. She also worked as a freight broker and remained actively involved in the trucking industry throughout her career. She moved from Mt. Grove to Higginsville to be closer to her family.

Surviving are one daughter, Kimberly (Scott) Freeman of Mountain Grove, Mo.; one brother, Gary Price of Odessa; one sister, Mary Lou Tosland of Dewey, Ariz.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Orville Price, Jr. and Larry Price; two sisters, Anna Brown and Maxine Cordle.

A graveside service with burial, officiated by Dan Mahurin was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 in the Calvary Cemetery, Corder, Mo.
