Lexington Census data

The Census Bureau just released new population estimates for Lexington in the latest American Community Survey. This data reveals how demographics are shifting locally, in Missouri, and across the country.

Specifically in Lexington, • The population has declined from 4,652 in the 2020 Census to an estimated 4,606 today — a decrease of 46 residents or -1.0%.

• The largest racial groups are White (87.8%), Hispanic (10.6%), and Black (1.3%). Lexington is less racially diverse than Missouri as a whole, and is becoming less diverse over time.

• Missouri as a whole grew from 6,154,913 to 6,191,814 estimated residents (+0.6%). While Missouri overall is growing, Lexington is losing population with a -1.0% change.
