Hazel Hill Community Club meets

Hazel Hill Community Hill met on Feb.12 at 12 p.m. at Thomas Hall. Hostesses were Cathy Rogge and Diane Schmidt. Other members attending are: Anna Mae Closterman, Lois Graf, Mary Ellen Kitchen, Pat Maycock, Shirley Maycock, Mary Salyer, Lois Schmidt, and Lolly Schmidt.

President Cathy called the meeting to order. Minutes were read by Lolly, and approved as read. Mary Ellen gave the Treasurers report as of Feb. 1. Donations were sent to Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Mercy, Show Me Children’s Home and J&L Events Thunder at the Port.

Cathy read from, “From Your Heart.” Tickets have been purchased for “Walkin the Line,” the ultimate tribute to Johnny Cash for April 18 at 2 p.m. at the Lyceum Theater. Will try to get reservations for lunch at J Hudson Tavern.

The club will be 75 years old in March. There were 26 charter members, and the club colors are pink and green. The original name of the club was Hazel Hill Extension Club.

A sympathy card was sent to the Donald Riley family. Door prizes were won by Pat and Lolly. A delicious lunch was served by the hostesses.

The white elephant sale was held. Diane, assisted by Cathy, was the auctioneer. Guests were Karen Zumalt and Becky Limback. Hostesses for the March 12 meeting were set to be Mary Ellen and Lolly.
