SF baseball drops home opener

Spring is in the air, and once again it is time for Santa Fe Spring Sports. The Chiefs Baseball team held it’s first action of the season at home on Dalton Wilkinson Field against the Kingsville Tigers, who were fresh off a Final Four appearance in Class One Basketball just a few days prior. KHS was 6 and 14 last year and Santa Fe was 1 and 16.

Tyler Tebbenkamp took the loss for the Chiefs on the bump, and Santa Fe saw several arms on the day as Tyson Davis, Brayden Livingston, and Dalton Doak all made appearances as well. Santa Fe’s bats were held at bay in this contest, as Kingsville allowed zero hits.

Kingsville opened with a pair of runs in the top of the first and added two insurance runs in the 6th to take the win 4-0. The Chiefs also took on Cole Camp Monday night dropping that contest 12 to 2. More on the game next edition.
