Local teen launches ‘Crown Your Confidence’ events

Isabelle Liberty Newman, a 17-year-old standout student at Lafayette County High School, is on a mission to empower others while chasing a historic goal.

Following her recent “districtlevel” victory as Miss Katy Trail’s Teen, Isabelle is now preparing to represent the region at the Miss Missouri’s Teen state competition this June.

To celebrate this journey and give back to the community that raised her, Isabelle is hosting a series of Crown Your Confidence Community Events. These events are free and open to everyone, regardless of residency. Isabelle’s vision is to foster confidence and connection across Missouri, inviting neighbors from Higginsville and beyond to participate in this uplifting initiative.

The Journey to State

Many are familiar with the glittering crown, but few realize the rigorous dedication required to compete at this level. The Miss Missouri’s Teen organization is a premier provider of scholarships and a preliminary to the Miss America’s Teen Pageant.

Isabelle’s recent win at the Miss Katy Trail’s Teen level acted as a qualifying “district” victory. She is now deep in training for the state finals, which will take place June 10-12, 2026, in Mexico, Missouri.

A win at the state level would propel her to the national stage, where she would compete for the title of Miss America’s Teen.

More Than a Pageant: The Four Points

The competition is built upon the “Four Points of the Crown,” representing the pillars of the organization’s mission:

• Service: A heart for community impact and volunteerism.

• Scholarship: A commitment to academic excellence and future goals.

• Success: Developing the life skills and confidence to lead.

• Style: Presenting one’s best self with grace and authenticity.

As a true scholar-artist, Isabelle embodies these values. At Lafayette County High School, she is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and FBLA.

Her diverse talents range from being a varsity football cheerleader and winter color guard member to performing as a saxophonist in the school band. For the talent portion of the competition, she will showcase her unique skill as a speed painter, blending her artistic passion with a high-energy, theatrical performance.

Save the Date

Isabelle invites the public to join her for the next Crown Your Confidence event on March 20th at the Heidi Lynn Photography Studio, 1822 N Main Street in Higginsville. This is the third of her six planned free community events she’s hosting before heading to Mexico, MO, in June.

“I am so incredibly grateful for the support Higginsville has shown me,” says Isabelle. “Each of my ‘Crown Your Confidence’ events hits on a different aspect of self-assurance. These workshops each explore a unique theme — some focusing on art, fitness, positive self talk, and more. My goal is to show every young woman that she can achieve her dreams through the power of confidence.”
