Marching Huskers Under New Orders

By Alyson White The Marching Huskers, while previously under the direction of Mrs. Kelly Reuther, now have a fresh teacher taking the mantle. Miss Emily Westerman, a recent graduate from UCM, has taken the position as the 6-12 Band Director. While she has large shoes to fill, we can look forward to see the direction the band continues to grow in!

Letʼs Welcome New Middle School Physical Education Teacher, Mr. Alan Joyner!

My name is Alan Joyner, and I am the new Middle School Physical Education and Weights teacher. I also coach high school boys basketball. I’ve spent time subbing in the district, so I’ve already had the opportunity to get to know many of the students and staff. My wife, Lindsey, has been in education for nearly 20 years, and we have two daughters, Lillian and Violet. I’ve spent much of my career in fitness, coaching, and owning a gym, and I’m excited to bring those experiences into the classroom.

No summer vacation for Lafayette County Retired School Personnel

Despite having a May through August break in regular meetings, Lafayette County Retired School Personnel (LCRSP) had a very busy summer! LCRSP is the local educational unit of MRTA – Missouri Retired Teachers and Education Employees Association. MRTA is the largest and only education association whose main purpose is to protect the PSRS/PEERS pension system and advocate for legislation that supports Missouri public schools. MRTA is non-partisan and nonprofit.
