Back-to-School sales tax holiday will be Aug. 7 – Aug. 9
Missouri’s annual Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, and run through midnight on Sunday, Aug. 9. During this time, certain purchases such as school supplies, computers, clothing, and other qualifying items as defined by statute are exempt from all state and local sales tax.

Santa Fe class of ‘81 holds reunion
Santa Fe’s graduating class of 1981 held their 45th class reunion on June 6, 2026. The outdoor evening event was held at the home of Dale and Deana Aversman, both members of the class. A catered meal was provided by Nadler’s of Wellington along with a contribution of side dishes and desserts.
SF board approves budgets, salaries, Hinz reinstalled as board member
The Santa Fe Board of Education’s first action at their final scheduled meeting for the school year, held on June 24, was to welcome back a familiar face to the Board. President Russell Limback thanked long time former member, Brad Hinz, for accepting his appointment to the board.
Local student honored at SkillsUSA event
A career and technical education student in Missouri was recognized with a certificate of accomplishment at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC) held June 1-5 in Atlanta. An all-time high of 7,000 students competed in the 2026 SkillsUSA Championships at NLSC, which is the largest gathering of the future skilled workforce.

On June 17, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) announced the list of Missouri’s 2027 eligible Regional Teacher of the Year candidates.

Santa Fe PAT fun in the park
On Sunday, June 14, the Santa Fe School Districts Parents as Teachers Program hosted a summer group event in the Alma City park from 12-2 p.m. Children and their families enjoyed several activity stations, including a corn pit, which the kids loved!
