The Santa Fe R-X school district will hold a second town hall meeting on Wednesday, April 1, with the topic of preserving rural schools and communities.

Educational attorney Duane Martin will return, along with Allan Markley, an education specialist with Raymond James Financial, for a collaborative follow-up in the style of a round table discussion. Area superintendents and members of the public are invited to attend.

Topics of discussion will include Missouri rural schools and public education, new laws regarding local taxes and public education, diversion of funding from public education, and disparity in funding for public education.

The event will be held at Santa Fe High School (108 N Mitchell, Alma) beginning at 5:30 p.m.
