Coffee with the Commission

The Lafayette County Commission are continuing their Coffee with the Commission outreach program by visiting towns across the county. Area residents are invited to the upcoming meeting planned for Saturday, April 4, at Ten Twelve Main in Lexington (1012 Main St., Lexington). All meetings are held from 9-10:30 a.m. Meet your commissioners, ask questions, and learn more about Lafayette County’s goals for 2026 and beyond.

Local Easter Egg Hunts

Apple Ridge Care Center will hold the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Waverly on Saturday, April 4, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Waverly Community Building. In addition to the hunt, there will be a variety of activities for children, so bring your baskets and your enthusiasm! *** The Santa Fe FFA and NHS will hold the annual Alma Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4. The hunt for kids age 0-10 will begin at 3 p.m. at Alma City Park. The Flashlight Hunt for kids age 11-14 will begin at 8:30 p.m. also at the park. This event is weather permitting. For questions, contact Martha Schreiman at 660-229-3127. *** The Corder Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 4 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Corder City Park. The event will include age divisions for all ages, including adults! Bring your own baskets. This event is free and open to all! Event will be cancelled in the case of inclement weather. *** There will be no Easter Egg Hunt in Blackburn this year.

Lafayette County Health Department closure

LCHD will be closed Tuesday, April 7, for staff development/ training. The Health Department will resume regular service hours on Wednesday, April 8, 8:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. All services are provided on a non-discriminatory basis. LCHD is EOE. Grand Pass spaghetti dinner

The Maple Hill Cemetery Association will host a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the St. Luke United Church of Christ, 2007 Baskins, Grand Pass. This event will be offered for a free-will donation. Mowing and maintenance of this cemetery is solely funded through donations.

Good Friends & Neighbors

On the first Monday of every month, a community group in Waverly called Good Friends and Neighbors meets at the Waverly Baptist Church. Meetings begin at 10:30 a.m. with a potluck lunch to follow. All are welcome to attend!
