Seven Lexington players make All State Academic Team

The Lexington Minutewomen Softball Team not only had one of the best Softball seasons in school history, but they also had 7 of their players who were named to the All State Academic Team.

To be named to the All State Academic Team, a softball player must have a Grade Point Average of at least 3.75 in their high school courses. Hunter Adkins (Senior), Audrie Bollmeyer (Freshman), Katy Carter (Senior), Mireya Gonzalez (Junior), Amanda Rodekohr (Senior), Neveah Rodriguez (Senior), and Kinsley Worthington (Freshman), all achieved that 3.75 average, and were named All State.

The Minutewomen had a record of 18-10 this past season, and finished in third placed in the MRVC East Conference with a 6-4 Conference mark, behind only State Champion Holden and District Champion Carrollton. The Lexington Girls had an exciting 10-9 walk off win over Westran, in a District Tournament quarterfinal game, before falling to Carrollton 14-10 in a semi final contest. LaNiya Davis and Zoey Earnest were both named All Conference First Team, with Adkins, Gonzalez, and Worthington all named to the second team, while Carter received Honorable Mention. Adkins, Davis and Earnest were all named to the All District First Team, while Gonzalez earned Second Team honors. Adkins was also named to the All Region Team. Cassandra Pearson was the Head Coach of the Minutewomen Softball Team.
