Lady Chiefs topple Saints in softball

It was indeed a Red and Black attack on April 6th at St. Paul Lutheran in Concordia, for the team’s first road contest of the year. The game started innocently enough, tied at bagels after one, and only one-zero after two, yet SFHS laid down a Lincoln in the third, and erupted for eight more scores in the 4th, and a run in the 5th, to put the Lady Saints away in five innings, winning 15-0.

The Lady Chiefs were wielding hot bats, which accounted for 10 hits in the game, to just one for St. Paul. Extra base hits came from Tylee Koch with a double, and Tatum Fitzwater with a home run. Abbie and Samantha Mueller each added a hit, Fitzwater, and Koch two hits each, and Keastin Kitchen provided three hits.

In the circle, Fitzwater tossed 3 innings, allowing a lone hit, 3 walks, and 9 strikeouts. JoHanna Breshears also saw action, with 2 innings, no hits allowed, no walks, and 5 strikeouts.

Next up was a contest with the 4 and 5 Concordia Lady Orioles on 4-8-26, with the details not being available at press time.
