Tennis Team Continues Winning LUays

The tennis team saw three matches last week, and won all three as road warriors. On April 7 they faced Excelsior Springs on the road, Colby Dickmeier and Alex Dyer won 8-2 at #1 doubles, Matteo Guillen and Rhett Bums won 8-0 at #2, and Cy Fitzgerel and Joel Cook won 8-1 at #3.

Dickmeier won 8-0 at #1 singles over Tyler Wartner, while the Tigers picked up an 8-5 win at #2 singles over Guillen. The rest of the match was dominated by the Blue and Gold netmen, winning 8-1.

The Huskers then did something they have never done before in the history of the program. On April 9th they traveled to Holden for a tennis match for the first time ever. The Eagles started up their program last year.

Dickmeier closed out a tight win at #1 9-7, Guillen dropped his match 8-9 in a tiebreaker at #2, and then the Huskers steamrolled through the other matches with the next closest match being 8-1.

Next up was a road match at Richmond on the 10th, where the team won 9-0 in a sweep of the Spartans. Dickmeier won his match against #1 Brody Burdine by the score of 8-1, and teamed with Dyer at #1 doubles to win 8-3.
