Robert Joseph “Bobby Joe” Montgomery, 71, of rural Marshall, died Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Born Oct. 29, 1954, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Robert Junior Montgomery and Mary Emily Tuck Montgomery.

Bobby Joe lived in Saline County his entire life and was a 1972 graduate of Malta Bend High School.

On July 11, 1981, he married Connie Heavin Montgomery.

Bobby Joe’s life was spent with what he loved most, farming.

He is survived by his wife Connie of the home; two daughters: Mindy Jo Montgomery (Shane) of Lucas, Kan., and Emma JoAnn Montgomery (Jeremy) of Chillicothe; two grandchildren; two sisters: Tina Montgomery of Mexico, Mo., and Rene Boland (David) of Marshall; as well as other extended family.

Bobby Joe was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant daughter, Mary Jo Montgomery.

Visitation and funeral services were held Monday, April 13, 2026, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Burial followed in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery at Shackelford.
