Minutemen linksters place third in Richmond Quad

The Lexington Minutemen Boys Golf Team traveled across the river, and placed third in the Richmond Quad Tournament that was played a week ago Tuesday at Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond.

The host Richmond Spartans took first place with a four man score of 173, while Carrollton was second at 176, Lexington third with a score of 210, and Holden fourth at 257. Casson Kipping of Carrollton was the Medalist for the day with a nine hole score of 37, while Latimer Cavanah of Richmond was second at 41, with his teammate Isaac Kaylor third, with a score of 43.

For the Minutemen, Luke Miller was the top golfer with a score of 45, while Wyatt Potter was two strokes back at 47, with Caden Murdock carding a 54, and Jace Taylor and Hayden Ward both coming in at 64.

Lexington Coach Connor Weedman commented: “Our golfers have been putting in a lot of work, and they are playing much better this year. Most of them played a great deal of golf this past Summer, and it has really paid big dividends.”
