Higginsville Parks and Recreation Update

Things have really been hopping at the park, youth soccer has been in full bloom, with well over 200 kids participating in our prek-9th grade divsions. Over 23 different teams! Let’s all thank the refs, the field supervisors, the volunteer coaches, the grounds crew, and so many more that support this and other youth sports programs to make this happen. For a town our size, we have one of the largest youth sports programs around, not just in soccer, also in youth T-ball, Coach Pitch 8U baseball and Softball, and Little League. Please drive by the park on game night and see all the kids and families at the respective fields.

What else is going on? After 20 plus years Danny Duffey has retired as Park Maintenance Supervisor. Thank you for your years of service Danny! Who is his replacement? Jesse Murry has taken on that role and has been very active in carrying on the tradition of having great park facilities, and top notch maintenance practices. We look forward to the bright future ahead with Jesse leading the maintenance team. Watch for more updates soon.
