Temporary news office closure

The Santa Fe Times office will be closed during the week of June 1 for Klarissa’s vacation. News items may still be submitted to news@santafetimesnews.com and calls may be directed to 660-243-0330. The deadline for submission of items to the newspaper will remain noon on the Tuesday before desired publication. Please remember the newspaper also has a new mailing address: PO Box 128, Lexington MO 64067.

Alma Lions Club meeting

The Alma Lions Club will meet at the Alma City Park on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. The ballot was reviewed in April. Will be voting in May. The Independence Day celebration will be held the last week of June with fireworks and concession open on June 26 and 27.

Good Friends & Neighbors

On the first Monday of every month, a community group in Waverly called Good Friends and Neighbors meets at the Waverly Baptist Church. Meetings begin at 10:30 a.m. with a potluck lunch to follow. All are welcome to attend!

Carroll County Praisefest

The 2026 Carroll County Praisefest will be held May 28-30 at the Carroll County Fairgrounds. Thursday, May 28: Youth Night. 6 p.m. free food & games, 7-8 p.m. praise & worship with Mos Stef & Pastor Bob Caldwell. Youth in grades 5th-high school are welcome. Friday, May 29: Revival. 6:30 p.m. music by Blue Mound Cowboy Church, 7:30 p.m. Revival with Pastor Richard Colliver & local pastors. Lafayette County Cares Coalition 5K

The Cares Coalition will hold a free Stomp the Stigma of Mental Health & Substance Use Conditions 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 30 beginning at 9 a.m. at the courthouse in Lexington. Visit the Lafayette County Cares Coalition Facebook page to register.

Corder Picnic

The 126th annual Corder Community Picnic will be held June 17, 19 & 20, 2026 at the Corder park. The rodeo will be held Wednesday, Miss Corder pageant Friday, and Saturday will feature games, the 4th annual VFW Car Show, parade, rides and more. Waverly Community VBS

Waverly Community VBS is scheduled for July 19-23 from 6-8 p.m. at Victory Christian Fellowship. VBS is open to children age 4 (by Aug. 1) – 8th grade.
