Viebrock scholarship winners

The Lexington Hall of Fame for Career Achievement is proud to announce this year’s recipients of the Arnold Viebrock Memorial Scholarship. Receiving the scholarships were Lexington High School seniors Kathryn Carter and Elizabeth Hager.
Kathryn is the daughter of Bryan and Stephanie Carter. She will attend UCM and major in nursing. At Lexington High School, she was the team captain for cheerleading, cross country and softball. She was a member of National Honor Society and attended Missouri Girls’ State.
Elizabeth is the daughter of Kennen and Ashely Hager. Elizabeth was a state wrestling medalist, a varsity cheerleader and a member of the dance team. She was a member of National Honor Society, attended Missouri Girls’ State and was president of HOSA. She plans to attend Central Methodist University and major in health science.
Mr. Viebrock began his career at Lexington High School as an industrial arts teacher. He became the high school principal in 1961 and retired as the middle school principal.
His wife, Martha, taught physical education in the district as well. The Lexington High School Activity Center is named in Mr. Viebrock’s honor. He was a strong supporter of both academics and extra-curricular activities in the Lexington School District. He was a member of the inaugural class of the Lexington Hall of Fame for Career Achievement.
The Arnold Viebrock Memorial Scholarship is supported through donations from the community and the Viebrock family. Steven Alkire memorials also helped to fund the scholarships.
