Baseball regular season play winds up for area teams
This past week marked the end of regular season play for area high school Baseball teams, as most teams began District play, either at the end of last week, or the first part of this current week.
In terms of teams in this area, there was a three way tie for first place in the MRVC East Conference, as Carrollton, Holden and Knob Noster, all shared the Conference Crown, as they all three finished with conference marks of 8-2. The three teams all split two games with each other, and they all won two games over, Lexington, Richmond and Higginsville.
Warrensburg was the MRVC West Conference Champion, as they were 60 in conference play, while Harrisonville was second, at 5-1. In the head-to-head match up between the two, Warrensburg topped Harrisonville 2-1 in a pitcher’s duel.
Lone Jack and St Paul tied for the I70 Conference Championship, as both had 5-1 conference records. In their head to head conference match up, Lone Jack won 10-0. However, Lone Jack lost an early season game with Concordia by a 6-5 count. Lone Jack also beat st Paul 4-1 in the Championship game of the I-70 Conference Tournament.
