City of Corder Board of Aldermen Meeting

Minutes from the Regular Meeting on April 14, 2026 at 7:00 PM

Present: Alderman Bauer, Alderman Chapman, Alderman Linebach, Alderman Vanlanker, Mayor Doug Lorenz, and City Clerk Matt Limback. Absent was Treasurer Donna Biesemeyer.

Visitors- No visitors Mayor Lorenz called the meeting to order at 7:00pm and led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

Agenda Approval Mayor Lorenz called for a motion to approve the agenda. Motion was made by Alderman Chapman and seconded by Alderman Vanlanker to approve the agenda. Motion carried with a vote of 4-0.

Voting yes: Aldermen Bauer, Chapman, Linebach, and Vanlanker. Consent Items Motion was made by Alderman Bauer and seconded by Alderman Chapman to approve the consent items as presented. Motion carried with a vote of 4-0. Voting yes: Aldermen Bauer, Chapman, Linebach, and Vanlanker.

Committee Reports Community Building– An individual doing community service has cleaned up the landscaping.

Library– No report Post Office- Robert Kennedy is the new clerk.

Park – Upcoming Park Board meeting on Tuesday, May 19th.

Police – Provided Street– Schloman Asphalt submitted a bid of $46,620 for street resurfacing. The City Clerk was directed to acquire about additional bids.

Sewer -No report.

New Business Abatement/Code Enforcement Motion was made by Alderman Linebach and seconded by Alderman Chapman to direct the City Clerk to draft a bill that would allow compensation for code enforcement through the City Clerk’s office. Motion carried with a vote of 4-0. Voting yes: Aldermen Bauer, Chapman, Linebach, and Vanlanker. A special meeting will be scheduled to hold the readings of the bill. gWorks Proposal A proposal for Front Desk was presented to allow for online citizen interaction. No action was taken.

Park Lighting The decision was made to pay for electrical upgrades to the City Park utilizing capital improvement funds due to the project being directly tied to infrastructure.

Other Business The Board of Alderman would like to explore a four-way stop at the intersection of Elizabeth and North Street. The City Clerk will research and provide guidance on feasibility. Having no other open business, a motion was made by Alderman Chapman and seconded by Alderman Linebach to approve payment of bills. Motion carried with a vote of 4-0. Voting yes: Aldermen Bauer, Chapman, Linebach, and Vanlanker.

June 2026 regular meeting was set for Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 7:00pm at the City Hall.
