Dennis Hubert “Denny” Grannemann

March 17, 1940 – June 12, 2026

Dennis Hubert “Denny” Grannemann, age 86 of Higginsville, returned to his Heavenly home on June 12, 2026, at Centerpoint Medical Center a_er a valiant battle with a long illness. He was supported by family members, friends, and his belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior who gave him his nal peace. Denny was born to Hubert and Erna (Brockho 4) Grannemann on March 17, 1940. He graduated in 1958 from Alma High School. In 1961, he married Joanne Elizabeth Keller at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, MO. Denny attended college at Central Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1965 and later in 1968 completed his Master’s Degree in Industrial Arts. In 1966, he taught industrial arts in Holden, MO. In 1968 through 1981, he taught industrial arts and driver’s education for the Lafayette Co. C-1 school district. In 1981, he resigned from C-1 to become a self-employed contractor. He was a very capable journeyman, doing nish work, painting, sheet rock, and nally becoming a licensed electrician.

From an early age, Denny was an avid sherman. He spent many happy hours on the waters of Truman Lake, near Warsaw, MO. He purchased a little cabin near Truman Lake and dubbed it “Granne’s House”. It was always a happy spot for him as he and Joanne enjoyed the birds and trees. Denny also enjoyed collecting antiques, clocks, tying shing lures, cooking and deer hunting. He loved driving and the couple enjoyed a yearly vacation, exploring something new.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents; an older brother, Olan Grannemann; two infant daughters, Christine (1970) and Susan (1972); and his wife, Joanne (2017). He is survived by three nieces and a nephew, Donna (Richard) Webb, Lynn (Melvin) Lewis of Bates City, MO, Maxen Mason of White Hall, AR, and Linda (Allen) Bush of Odessa, MO; many great, and great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his cousins Ann Porter and Kathy Frieberger.

A graveside service o_ciated by his nephew-in-law, Melvin Lewis will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11AM where Denny will be buried beside his wife in the Mission Ridge Cemetery in Urbana, MO. Memorials may be made to Mission Ridge Cemetery.
