Stephen Ernest Madorin

Stephen Ernest Madorin, 77, died Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at his home in Wichita, Kan. He was born on Nov. 5, 1948 in Sedalia, Mo. Stephen was raised in Sedalia where he graduated from Smith Cotton High School. He later received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Berklee School of Music in Boston.
After graduating from college, Stephen returned to Sedalia where he married Carol Thornton in 1978. They traveled throughout the country and Canada while he was a member of a trio band and Jubilation Band for several years performing Gospel music.
He worked at the Whiteman Air Force Base before accepting a job at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita. Stephen and Carol moved to Wichita in 1979. He would continue to work as a Manufacturing Engineer for Spirit Aircraft until retiring.
Stephen later married Barbara Camden on May 7, 2006.
Stephen is survived by his wife Barbara; sons Chris Madorin and wife Samantha of Andover, Shawn Stevens and wife Mandy of Wichita; daughters Mendi Roberts and husband Brian of Wichita, Rachelle Romero and husband Rolando of Haysville; sister Sharon Fenley of Malta Bend, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, June 13 at Glorious Bible Church in Wichita, Kan. Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
