Fair Excellence Awards announced

The Lafayette County 4-H/FFA Fair Exhibit Day was held on Saturday, July 11. During this event Lafayette County 4-H members delivered projects to Lafayette County C-1 Middle School which illustrate their hard work, creativity, and countless hours of dedication. This year, Lafayette County 4-H members delivered more than 1,300 projects to be exhibited. On Monday, July 13, even more projects were entered from area FFA members! The exhibit building opened to the public on Monday, July 13, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Exhibits were available for viewing daily from July 13-16.

Following Exhibit Day, the Lafayette County MU Extension announced Excellence Awards. Excellence Awards are earned by 4-H members who achieve the highest scores in their project areas based on a combination of Achievement Day, Conference Judging on Exhibit Day, and Exhibit Day ribbon results.

This year, 76 4-H members earned a score of 70 points or higher and were recognized for their hard work during an Excellence Awards Ceremony held on Tuesday, July 14, at the Shelter House in Fairgrounds Park in Higginsville.
