Harry Wayne Gaddy

Harry Wayne Gaddy, 85, of Marshall, died Friday, July 24, 2026, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia.

Born December 6, 1940, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Joseph Harry Gaddy and Minnie Irene George Gaddy.  Harry was inducted into the United States Army on April 26, 1960, and was honorably discharged on April 25, 1963. His working career was spent working at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant and in a rock quarry.  He also worked as a district manager for The Kansas City Star. Harry was a member of American Legion Post 191.

 Survivors include one daughter, Dee Brooks (Dan) of Carrollton; two sons, Thomas Gaddy of Columbia, and Sam Gaddy (Allie) of Marshall; a step granddaughter, Erin Elmore and her daughter, Bria; two brothers, Kenneth Gaddy and Gary Gaddy; three sisters, Ada Nowlin, Penny Nelson, and Karen Simpson; two half-brothers, Joe and Rick Gaddy; a half-sister, Mary Elliott; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie and Danny Gaddy; two sisters, Connie Goring and Wanda Jean Gaddy (in infancy); and a half-sister, Wilma Jean Gaddy (in infancy).
