Douglas Duane Ambrose, 79, of Higginsville, Mo. passed away on August 5, 2026 at his home is Higginsville, Mo. Celebration of Life services will be held at 2 pm on August 16th at the Park Community Building, 810 W. 29th St., Higginsville, Mo.

Douglas was born on May 9, 1947 in Kansas Ciity, Mo., the son of Curtis Ambrose and Joann Goodloe. He graduated from Stover, Mo. and was married to Cheryl Ambrose for 60 years. He was a contract carrier for the Kansas City Star for over 30 years and was well known in his community for taking many youth hunting Dougals was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lyons, Granddaughter, Courtney Iles, and great grandson, Alec Iles.

His survivors include: Wife, Cheryl Ambrose, daughters, Donnie and Cara Grotzinger and Brian and Ashley Melvin, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
