Myron Martin Kersten, 86, of Malta Bend, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026. Born July 28, 1940, in rural Marshall, he was the son of Arlie and Mary (Chevalier) Kersten. He was a 1958 graduate of Malta Bend High School and 1962 graduate of Missouri Valley College.

On Nov. 28, 1964, he married Judith Anderson in Walnut Grove, Minn., who survives of the home.

Myron was a life-long crop farmer in the Malta Bend area. He was a member of the Malta Bend United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, Judith, he is survived by his children: Mark Kersten (Patty) of Lohman, Mo., Kristina McDorman (Darren) of Niceville, Fla., Katherine Kipping (Mark) of Polo, Nathan Kersten (Melissa) of Independence, Karl Kersten (Lindsey) of Malta Bend; sisters: Arlene Holmes, Henrietta Fenner (Monte), Karen Easter; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Everett; an infant son, Benjamin; and brother- in-law, Glen Easter.
