Theresa Kindred

Theresa “Terri” Kindred, 74, of Robinson, Texas, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Waco, Texas.

Born March 26, 1952, in Libertyville, Ill., she was the oldest child of four to the late Thomas Sorensen and Barbara Kline Sorensen. Terri graduated from Warren Township High School and Western Illinois University, and she did student teaching in Hollywood, Fla. She was teaching elementary school in Sedalia when she met Gerald “Jerry” Kindred. Terri and Jerry were married on April 30, 1978. She later taught in Independence, then began substitute teaching and worked for Eastern Airlines. The family moved to Marshall in 1994 and Terri continued substitute teaching. She was also a Special Ed teacher and helped in the library for the Gilliam and Malta Bend school districts.

Survivors include her three sons: Nicholas T. Kindred and wife, Jaime, of Robinson, Texas, Wesley T. Kindred and wife, Sarah, of Bella Vista, Ark, and Gerald “Max” Kindred of Marshall; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Laura Hull and Dianne Clark and her husband, Joe, all of Camdenton; and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, on April 10, 2008.

Visitation and funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with Rev. Randy Shannon officiating. Burial was at Ridge Park Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Marshall Cultural Council, and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com
