Michael Dean Madison

Michael Dean Madison, 72, of Waverly, passed away at his home on Oct. 2, 2026. He was born June 25, 1954, in Chillicothe, to Harold and Norma Madison.
Mike married Sheree Jo Maycock on March 31, 1972, and together they shared 54 years of marriage.
A devoted, hardworking, and loving family man, Mike retired from Quinn Concrete after 30 years of service.
Above all, Mike loved his family. He was an amazing grandpa and devoted uncle who rarely missed an opportunity to support his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews at school and athletic events. In his younger years, he enjoyed coaching Little League baseball.
Mike also looked forward to deer hunting, going to the races, attending the Sumner Goose Festival, working out at the Carroll County YMCA, going to church, cheering on the Chiefs (unless they were playing the Raiders), and enjoying a cold mug of lemonade from the Bridge Inn.
Mike is survived by his wife, Sheree, of the home; daughter, Jill; son, Jeff (Anneke) Madison of Waverly; grandchildren, Kota, Aubrie, and Chloe; and his great-granddaughter, Willow. He is also survived by his brothers, John (Lee) Madison of Bethany and Jake (Melissa) Madison of Lexington; sisters, Anna Marie (Gary) Tracy of Waverly and Susan (Leigh) Johnson of Carrollton; mother-in-law, Shirley Maycock; sister-in-law, Mitzi Cotter; brother-in-law, Brent (Linda) Maycock of Waverly; and many beloved nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tabitha; grandson, Christian; parents, Harold and Norma Madison; brother, Dennis Gene Madison; and father-in-law, Donald Maycock.
Mike will be remembered most for his love of family and for always showing up for the people he loved. His presence on the sidelines, in the stands, and in the lives of his family will be deeply missed. The example he set—to love without judgment and always be there for the people you love—will not be forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, at Marshall Family Worship Center with Pastor Mark Gooden and William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until time of the service, and burial will follow at the Waverly Cemetery.
Memorials are to the family’s choice and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com
