Academic Week to Celebrate Excellence at LHS

Lexington High School is proud to announce our upcoming Academic Week Celebration, which will take place March 2 through March 6. This annual tradition is completely supported through donations and community support. No school funding is used for this week.

This week is designed to recognize academic excellence while continuing to prepare our students for success beyond high school.

Academic Week participation is reserved for students in grades 10 through 12 who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.66 or higher. These students have demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to their academic goals, and we believe their efforts deserve to be celebrated.

The week will begin on Monday, March 2, with our Academic Week Banquet, where we will formally recognize eligible students for their accomplishments.

On March 3 and 4, students will travel to Branson and Springfield, Missouri, for an overnight college visit experience. This trip provides students the opportunity to tour Missouri State University and Ozark Technical College. Exposure to higher education environments is an important step in helping students envision their futures, whether traditional college or technical training. The students will also be able to experience different things such as an outing at Fritz’s adventure and some downtime to spend with friends shopping and exploring.

We will continue the celebration on March 5 with an Ice Cream Social, offering students a chance to gather and enjoy the week’s festivities together. Academic Week will conclude on March 6 with an Open Lunch for participating students.

We would also like to personally extend our sincere gratitude to the generous donors and community supporters who have helped make Academic Week possible. Your investment in our students and your belief in the importance of recognizing academic achievement truly make a difference. Because of your support, we can provide meaningful experiences that encourage our students to dream bigger and strive higher.

At Lexington High School, we believe recognizing achievement is just as important as pursuing it. Academic Week reflects our commitment to honoring hard work and encouraging every student to strive for excellence.

We look forward to celebrating our students and their accomplishments. Also, if you are interested in contributing to this event, please see Dr. Whitt or come by LHS. More activities could be included pending available funding and community support.
