Waverly Masonic Lodge #61 A.F. & A.M. will hold their annual Soup & Chili Dinner on Sunday, Feb. 15, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event will be held at the Waverly Christian Church Fellowship Hall for a free-will offering.

The Youth Game Night scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 25 at the Lafayette County Extension office (14 E 19th St. #102, Higginsville) has been rescheduled! Plan to attend the Game Night and pizza party, beginning at 6 p.m. on Feb.

There’s no schedule or agenda, just come hang out. Bring your own beverage and feel free to bring any board games you’d like to share.

Lafayette County Health Department closures

LCHD will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of President’s Day. The Health Department will resume regular service hours on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 8:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. More information about LCHD can be found at lafayettecountyhealth. org. Ash Wednesday service

The Waverly United Methodist Church will have a drive-through Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 7:30-8:30 a.m. All are welcome. Drive through the back parking lot by the basement entrance (Jefferson St.) and receive ashes, a blessing for the day and a cookie to top it all off.

Wild Game Supper in Waverly

Attention area men and boys! You are invited to a Wild Game Supper, to be held at Waverly Baptist Church on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 6 p.m.

The event will include dinner and a program.

Prom Dress Shoppe

The Prom Dress Shoppe Hours have been set for 2026! Located at 16 W. 15th Street, Higginsville, they will be open the following days from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Saturdays, Feb. 7, Feb.

14, Feb. 21, and Feb. 28. The Shoppe accepted the following items as donations: Any sized gently used prom dresses, evening gowns, ball gowns, MIL dresses; heels or flats; hand clutches or small strap bags; and new jewelry only. These items will help ensure that everyone gets a chance at feeling their prettiest for their special day. Donations can be dropped off anytime during Grace United Methodist Church office hours Monday-Friday from 9:30 a.m. 2:30 p.m. (Check for holiday hours) or anytime during the Prom Dress Shoppe hours.
