Brown officially confirmed as Lafayette County Southern Commissioner

Michael Brown of Concordia has been officially confirmed as the Southern District Commissioner for Lafayette County, completing the formal appointment process required by the State of Missouri.
Following the resignation of former Southern District Commissioner Brad McLaughlin in November, the Lafayette County Republican Committee recommended Brown for the position. That recommendation was submitted to Mike Kehoe, who appointed Brown to fill the vacancy. Under Missouri law, appointments to fill vacancies in county commission offices must be confirmed by the Missouri Senate. On Feb. 4, while the Senate was in session, Brown’s appointment was formally approved, marking the final step in the process and solidifying his role as Lafayette County’s Southern District Commissioner.
Brown brings prior public service experience to the position, having previously served as Mayor of Concordia. His background in local government provides valuable insight into the needs of both rural communities and municipalities within Lafayette County.
County officials congratulated Brown on his confirmation and welcomed him as he continues serving the citizens of the Southern District.
“Commissioner Brown’s confirmation brings stability and continuity to the county commission,” Commissioner Monica Ritter said. “We look forward to working together on the important issues our County is currently facing.”
