Dr. Brandon Scott
The Lexington Hall of Fame for Career Achievement is proud to announce the induction of Dr. Brandon Scott.
Dr. Brandon James Scott was born in Lexington, Missouri in 1978 to James Scott and Yvonne Shaw. He grew up in Lexington his entire youth, participating in many academic and extracurricular activities in the Lexington area including Band, sports and FFA among others. He graduated from Lexington High school in 1996.
After high school he then went on to Southwest Missouri State University for undergraduate studies. Having a lifelong love for science, especially the study of biology, he went on majoring in biology with an emphasis in premedical studies and a minor in chemistry with a 3.56 GPA.
After undergraduate studies he was then accepted into Kansas City University medical school. He applied himself to medical academics as well as rotating through many prestigious hospital systems in New York City, Chicago and Detroit along with Dayton, Ohio.
He graduated medical school in 2004 in the top tier of his class and moved from the Kansas City area to Dayton to begin his neurological surgery training.
He lived in Dayton for 6 years completing extensive training at Kettering Health Network affiliated with Ohio University. He graduated in 2010 as a board-certified Neurological Surgeon.
Dr. Scott moved to Cape Girardeau, MO in 2010 to practice at Saint Francis Medical Center specializing in spinal surgery. He also served the community performing trauma surgery, brain surgery and peripheral nerve surgery.
He has participated in many neurological committees and organizations in advancing and improving spine surgery. He has been the first in the region in performing multiple different cutting-edge spine procedures.
He has maintained interest in not only continuing medical education but also traveling, golf and gardening. He has traveled to all 7 continents and over 30 countries and 48 states.
Dr. Scott married his best friend and soulmate Sabrina Scott and they have 3 kids. They currently live in Cape Girardeau on 70 acres and travel back to Lexington often where his family still resides.
The public is invited to honor Dr. Scott at the Lexington Hall of Fame for Career Achievement Ceremony on Saturday, March 7 at 2 p.m. at the L.H.S. Arnold Viebrock Activity Center.
