WCE RoundUp grants given out

The first quarter 2026 RoundUp grants were recently presented to area groups and organizations. The following organizations and projects received funds: Helen’s House of Odessa received $3,500 to restock supplies and necessities.

Grow Pediatric Therapy Services received a $1,500 grant for their “Socks for Students” program.

HCC Network received a $3,000 grant to help fund hygiene kits.

Knob Noster School District received a $2,500 grant to start a Special Olympics program.

Odessa Middle School received a $2,000 grant to expand the OMS Robotics Club and purchase equipment.

The West Central Electric RoundUp Foundation was established in the fall of 2017 with the first funds being collected in September 2018. Members who participate in the program have their bills rounded up each month to the nearest dollar with proceeds benefiting foundation applicants chosen for funding.

“Participating in Operation RoundUp costs WCE members literally only pennies, but we can do so much good and benefit so many with what amounts to less than a handful of change per month,” RoundUp Foundation President Amy Hoover said. “The maximum any one member could contribute in a year is $11.88, and the average is around $6 or $7 per year. That amounts to less than a fancy cup of coffee.”
