Meeting Change for Lafayette Co Democrats
Due to our customary meeting date coinciding with Super Bowl Sunday, the Lafayette County Democrats will convene on Sunday, February 15th at 4:30 PM at the Fairground Community Building, located at 801 West 29th Street, Higginsville, Missouri 64037. Individuals who are interested in learning more about education matters in our state are welcome to attend.
Missouri S&T announces Dean’s List
ROLLA, Mo. (January 29, 2026) - Missouri University of Science and Technology announces the names of students who made the dean's list for the Fall 2025 semester. The dean's list can also be found online at studenthonors. mst.edu. To be included on the dean's list, students must carry a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or above out of a possible 4.0.
Standing Close to the Action
In the early 1990s, while I was a student at the University of Missouri, I worked security for basketball games and concerts at the Hearnes Center. It wasn’t glamorous work, but it did provide some extra spending money. I didn’t realize it at the time, but it turned out to be a front-row education in American music, human behavior, and the art of standing still while history happened just a few feet away.
