Work in progress
Local artist Mike Elder was working hard recently doing prep work on the community mural located at 13 Highway and Roncelli Road. The mural, which welcomes visitors to Lexington, features different designs (inside each letter) submitted by various community groups and organizations. The project is expected to be completed by June.
Spectrum announces expansion of fiber broadband network
Spectrum, the #1 rural internet provider in the nation, recently announced the expansion of its fiber broadband network to bring Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services to more than 2,000 additional homes and businesses in previously unserved or underserved areas of Lafayette County, including locations near Bates City, Lexington, Odessa, Wellington, Napoleon, Hile, Myrick, Greenton and Lake Lafayette.

Bunnell named to Dean’s List at Southern New Hampshire U.
Aaron Bunnell of Lexington has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Spring 2026 Dean’s List. The spring terms run from January to May.
Poppies to be distributed
Poppies will be handed out at Brother’s Market on May 22 from 5 to 7 pm and May 23 from 9 am to 3 pm.
Camden man sentenced for robbery
On May 11, Louis Patti, 42, of Camden, appeared before the Honorable Judge Josh Taylor in the Circuit Court of Saline County and was sentenced to serve 20 years for Robbery in the First Degree and 12 years for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
Parks honor military service
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources values the tremendous contributions and sacrifices made by members of the military and their families.

Soendker receives James Cado Scholarship
The 2026 James Cado Scholarship has been awarded to Lexington High School senior Conner Soendker. He is the son of Kirk and Jennifer Soendker.

Viebrock scholarship winners
The Lexington Hall of Fame for Career Achievement is proud to announce this year’s recipients of the Arnold Viebrock Memorial Scholarship. Receiving the scholarships were Lexington High School seniors Kathryn Carter and Elizabeth Hager.
