Heil to perform in Carrollton
Santa Fe Alumna Brett Heil is scheduled to perform in Carrollton during the CarrollTON’S of Fun Day, held annually on July 4. She is set to take the stage in the Carrollton Recreational Park from 12:15-1:30 p.m.

LCRSP members attend MRTA Region 5 meeting, many concerns raised about taxes, budget
On Thursday, June 4, 2026, Lafayette County Retired School Personnel officers John Morgan (President), Carol Struchtemeyer (VP), Gail Lilleman (Treasurer), and Amy Chambers Thieman (Secretary), along with Region 5’s Distinguished Retiree Award Winner, Evelyn Trigg, attended MRTA’s Region 5 Annual Meeting. It was hosted by Cooper County Area Retired Teachers and School Personnel at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Boonville. Breakfast treats and lunch were served. Door prizes and gift bags were presented. $500 was raised in a raffle enough to fund one MRTAF classroom grant. The meeting began at 10 a.m. and was adjourned about 2 p.m.
Shepherd’s Food Pantry May update
The need in the Tri-County region is great as we enter our summer stretch. During the month of May, Shepherd’s Food Pantry served 360 families, 1146 precious people who needed a helping hand. That included 502 adults, 334 children and 310 seniors.

Care Connection for Aging Services is soliciting public comment on its amended Area Plan for July 2026 – June 2027.

SF teacher wins Interstate Studio contest

MDC proposes permits at unstaffed shooting ranges
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) offers free recreational firearms shooting on more than 35 unstaffed shooting ranges around the state. The ranges were designed decades ago primarily for hunters with most traditional use being in the spring and fall in preparation for various hunting seasons.
Hazel Hill Community Club plans trip to Lyceum Theatre
The Hazel Hill Community Club met at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, at Thomas Hall. Diane Schmidt and Cathy Rogge were hostesses. Other members in attendance were: Audrey Campbell, Anna Mae Closterman, Mary Ellen Kitchen, Shirley Maycock, Mary Salyer, Lois Schmidt and Lolly Schmidt.
