Governor signs Executive Order establishing safeguards on Automated License Plate Readers
On Sept. 16, Governor Mike Kehoe signed Executive Order 26-18, establishing strict safeguards on the use of Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology, including Flock Safety cameras, to prevent the misuse of the personal location data of Missourians while preserving legitimate law enforcement uses of the technology.
Auditor releases September report on municipalities, special district financial information
On Sept. 25, Missouri State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick issued monthly reports detailing the compliance of municipalities and other political subdivisions with financial reporting laws.
MoDOT KC planning 11-month closure of I-70 in 2027
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will host a public information session to share more about the upcoming full closure of I-70 from downtown to the stadiums between Van Brunt Boulevard and Prospect Avenue. The information session will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 5-7 p.m. at Gregg/Klice Community Center (1600 John “Buck” O’Neil Way, Kansas City, MO 64108) This significant project will require an approximately 11-month closure of I-70 eastbound and westbound, scheduled to begin on Jan. 11, 2027, weather permitting. Whether you commute through the area, operate a business, work nearby, or live in the surrounding community, this meeting will help you prepare for the changes ahead.
