On Monday, Sept. 21, Santa Fe won in three sets against Sweet Springs. Scores 25-22, 25-23 and 25-8.
MDC: Report hemorrhagic disease
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is beginning to receive some reports of hemorrhagic disease (HD) in deer and is asking the public to help determine the extent of the disease by reporting suspected cases.
Chiefs nab homecoming win
Coach Jon Stockman’s team took on the St. Paul Saints in Alma last Friday night for a homecoming competition. The Saints enjoyed a 75-34 win last year over the Chiefs, but the Red and Black attack stood ready to take on the challenge.
VB defeats Midway, Sweet Springs
The Lady Chiefs hosted Midway at home last week, Sept. 15, in Alma. The tribe stormed out of the gates in set one, passing Midway 25 to 4. Set two and three were much closer with the team from Cass County posting scores of 17 and 18 in the frames.
Santa Fe football falls to Slater
The Santa Fe Chiefs took their show on the road last Friday night at Slater. The Wildcats were 2 and 1 on the season along with the Chiefs. This would be another shootout style 8-man game with plenty of offense on display. Santa Fe’s first drive stalled and was a turn over on downs; soon after Slater opened the scoring with a touchdown pass of 35 yards. Santa Fe was forced to punt on the next drive. Slater capitalized again to lead 14-0 before the Chiefs got a 12-yard scamper TD from Michael Barrett to close the quarter.

Santa Fe football taken down by Norborne/Hardin-Central
The 2 and 0 Santa Fe Chiefs faced a tough Norborne/ Hardin- Central team on Sept. 11. The contest was played on the road and the host team took the contest 64-27. Last season the Chiefs fell 60-16 to NHC, who ended their year at 10 and 1 in the fall of 2025.
