By Sara Green, Leslie Bell Elementary School Principal

As the school year comes to a close, the students and staff at Leslie Bell Elementary are focused on one shared goal: finishing strong. These final weeks are filled with meaningful learning, important milestones, and well-earned celebrations that reflect the hard work put in all year long.

From kindergarten through fourth grade, our classrooms remain as active and engaged as ever. Students are continuing to build their skills, deepen their understanding, and take pride in how far they’ve come. A key part of this end-of-year effort is our MAP and iReady benchmark testing, which give students the opportunity to demonstrate their academic growth and all they have learned throughout the year. We are proud of the determination and focus our students have shown during this important time.

Learning hasn’t slowed down — in fact, it continues in full force. Teachers are making the most of every moment, reinforcing key concepts while also encouraging curiosity and creativity. A highlight of this are the various field trips students have taken that have offered new perspectives and some hands-on learning experiences.

Of course, finishing strong also means taking time to celebrate. One of the highlights of this season are our upcoming annual field days, where students come together for a day of fun, teamwork, and outdoor activities. From relay races to group games, field day is a chance for students to build friendships, show sportsmanship, and enjoy the rewards of their hard work.

In addition to field day, we continue to recognize students and classrooms through our PBIS systems. These moments allow us to honor not only academic success but also growth, perseverance, and positive character. Every student has something to be proud of, and it is a joy to celebrate those accomplishments together.

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to our teachers and staff, whose dedication keeps students engaged and learning right up to the very last day. Their commitment ensures that every child continues to grow academically and personally.

We are also grateful for the continued support of our families and community. Your encouragement and involvement help our students stay focused and confident as they complete the school year.

As we look ahead to summer, we do so with pride in what has been accomplished and excitement for what’s to come. At Leslie Bell Elementary, finishing strong means more than completing the year — it means celebrating growth, embracing learning, and carrying that momentum forward.

Thank you for being part of a successful and rewarding school year.
