Merchants group launches effort to promote Lexington

A renewed spirit of collaboration is taking shape in Historic Lexington with the formation of the Lexington, Missouri Merchants Association, a group dedicated to supporting local businesses and promoting Lexington as a destination for visitors and residents alike.

The Association brings together business owners, property owners, community partners, and supporters who share a common vision: to strengthen Lexington’s local economy while preserving the historic charm that makes the community unique.

The organization’s mission is: To foster a vibrant and collaborative business community in Historic Lexington as a welcoming place to shop, dine, explore, and invest through strategic promotion, thoughtful economic development, and preservation of our historic character.

The group envisions Historic Lexington as a thriving regional destination featuring diverse retail shops, restaurants, and service businesses; a welcoming environment that honors the city’s historic architecture; and a community where residents feel proud, visitors feel welcomed, and businesses feel supported.

Working Together to Build Momentum The Lexington, Missouri Merchants Association focuses on increasing foot traffic to local businesses through collaboration, marketing, and strategic event planning.

“Our success is everyone’s success,” Association members shared. “When one business thrives, our entire downtown benefits.”

The Association works closely with the Lexington Tourism Commission, the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Lexington, and other community organizations to ensure coordinated promotion and a unified message.

Together, these groups are working to position Lexington as an experience — whether it’s a day trip, a weekend getaway, or an extended stay.
