Scott William Romans

Scott William Romans, 59, of Higginsville, formerly of Mayview, died on June 20, 2026 at Centerpoint Medical Center.

He was born May 27, 1967, in St. Louis, to Kenneth and Karengene (Everhardt) Romans. He grew up in Mayview and graduated from Odessa High School. He married Pamela Dillon in April of 1991. They later divorced.

Scott loved working with his hands. Over the years he worked for Schnakenberg Painting, Sears Siding and Windows, Cornerstone Home Improvement, Niendieck Farms, and for the past 15+ years, he worked at MFA.

When he was young he loved raising and showing rabbits and chickens. As an adult, bowling and tractors were his two favorite hobbies. He belonged to the MidMo Tractor Club and spent many days at shows and pulling events. He bowled in leagues for years, and when his health prevented him from bowling, he enjoyed watching the younger generation of bowlers in the family.

He is preceded in death by, his parents; step-father, Gerald “Willie” Gray, Sr.; sister, Faith Shobe.

He is survived by his son Caleb Romans (Kimber) of Odessa; his daughters Sara Vandiver (Mason) of Higginsville and Carolgene Zvacek (Alan) of Holden; his brothers Keith Romans (Lucille) of Havelock, NC, Kevin Romans of Liberty, and Gerald Gray, Jr. of Mayview; his sisters Kristy Barker (Jeff) of Mayview, and Dawn Romans of Blue Springs; his brother-in-law Ed Shobe of Odessa; his best friend Randy Hoffman of Wellington; and his grandchildren Mae and Sue Vandiver, Jaxson, Kolten, Kamryn Cowherd, Ralph and Aurora Romans.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 6-8 pm at Kaiser ~Wiegers Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be held. Memorials are suggested to Higginsville Lanes Youth Bowling, 2111 Main, Higginsville, MO 64037.
